About

Behind the Worship

The music at New Horizon Church is an important part of our worship. We play a variety of songs and styles, offering our best, with the goal of preparing your heart for an encounter with Jesus. We’ll play new songs you haven’t heard before, songs you’ve heard on the radio, and even classic hymns (but maybe with a modern twist). It’s our goal to help you encounter God through the worship experience at New Horizon Church every week. Check out this playlist for a sampling of the songs you might hear during worship on a Sunday at New Horizon Church!

Family Ministry

Family Ministry is the church and parents synchronizing their efforts to fuel wonder, discovery, and passion for God in kids and students from birth through High School.

We know that two combined influences are better than just two influences. Our goal is that a student doesn’t graduate from his faith when he graduates from High School.

Care Network

We all have defining moments in our lives—challenging circumstances, relational pain, and transitional seasons. How we respond during these times has a direct impact on our spiritual growth. The Care Network connects you to groups, resources, trained volunteers, and professional counselors to help you grow.

Missions

New Horizon Church builds relationships with local and global leaders to identify areas where compassion is needed and hope can bring encouragement to our community and beyond.

Once needs are identified and prioritized, New Horizon will mobilize volunteers and, if possible, allocate resources to unleash compassionate service, build relationships for lasting impact, and share the hope of Jesus for a stronger more connected community.

Husband to Laura Sayre, Family Pastor, father to 3 boys. Love seeing this generation change their corner of the world. Trying to keep the ball in the fairway. . .

I love to share coffee with others and I am a great door opener. I am a storyteller and love to hang out with teenagers.

“No matter what you do in life and everything you do in life you are telling your story.”

Life verse Jeremiah 29:11

I get fired up watching the youth of this generation engage and change this culture. I enjoy art, golf, and love hanging out on the beach. I am going to learn to surf soon. I have a surfboard now. God is good and has changed my life! I love life and hanging out with people.  Someday I will live on the beach but not in a tent.

Mark Easterly

Connections Pastor

Mark Easterly

Connections Pastor

I have been in full time ministry for over 20 years. I have graduated from Nazarene Bible College with a degree in Bible studies.

Vastly more important than that, I love people and want you to have an opportunity to ask questions and get answers to who God is. How He is working in the world and know that He truly does love you. I am a communicator, not a preacher.

I will combine life situations and Biblical truth with humor animation and sincerity. Religion made me cranky, prideful and judgmental  but i'm getting over that. I found real faith expresses itself in openness, honesty and love. I assure you I do not have it all together but after years of relationship with Christ. I have  some good news and I would love to  have an opportunity to share it with you.

Pat Gerdeman

Family Ministry Assistant

Pat is just an “old Tennessee girl from a small town called McMinnville.” The word “community” is deeply rooted in her heart. She has been in NC for a very long time now but will never forget McMinnville.

Her previous positions have exercised her talent of connecting with people and helping them to her fullest. New Horizon Church has only assisted Pat to implement her skills as “God will always provide ways of showing Christ in our life.” She has been blessed with the New Horizon objective to “Encounter God and Engage in Community.”
