One of the biggest keys to on-going spiritual growth is to grow through reading, studying, and journaling through God’s Word, the Bible. The best approach to ensure this growth happens in your life is to commit to a systematic Bible Reading plan. If you’re committed you may consider grabbing a One-Year Bible to complete reading the Bible in one year. You can also read through the Bible in a year through a www.youversion.com reading plan.
For now, at least, commit to spending the next seven days reading through this simple reading plan, designed to help you read and study the book of Acts, Chapter 2, which is one of the most important passages for followers of Jesus and His Church. Eachday should take less than five minutes and will get you off to a great start in God’s Story that you are called to be a part of.
An important aspect of hearing from God is putting ourselves in the proper place to hear from God. For the next week, commit to taking 10 minutes out of your day for quiet time. Do whatever you have to do to avoid ALL distraction and be alone. Take a moment to read one of the Psalm spurrings for that day, then ask God to speak to you, simply listen for His voice.
Repenting means experiencing a complete change of mind and heart so that we are no longer at odds with God, but in sync with God. It is a reversal of the direction of your life-toward God. We let go of self-rule and God becomes Lord over our lives. Mark 1:15 says "The time promised by God has come at last!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!" During the next week, read one of these spurrings.
On Easter Sunday, we want to see everyone's ONE person who needs Jesus show up and hear about the second chance that is available to everyone. During the next week, pray for your ONE using one of these prayer spurrings.
